RKN actively contributes to SDG 13: Climate Action through our commitment to mitigating climate change and promoting environmental sustainability. We recognize the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the changing climate. At RKN, we prioritize sustainable practices in our seaweed farming operations and production processes. Seaweed is a highly efficient carbon sink, absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere and helping to mitigate climate change. Every ton of seaweed absorbs 120 kg CO2, 2 kg of nitrogen and 0.2 kg of phosphorus. By cultivating seaweed on a large scale, we contribute to carbon sequestration, reducing the overall carbon footprint. Additionally, we employ energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources to minimize our greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. Through our sustainable farming techniques, we protect and restore coastal ecosystems, which serve as natural buffers against climate-related events such as sea-level rise and coastal erosion. We actively engage with local communities, empowering them with knowledge and resources to adapt to the impacts of climate change and build resilience. Furthermore, we collaborate with research institutions and industry partners to develop innovative solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation. By promoting sustainable practices, investing in renewable energy, and raising awareness about climate change, RKN is committed to making a significant contribution to SDG 13. Life Below Water

RKN contributes to SDG 14: Life Below Water by actively promoting the preservation of marine ecosystems. Through sustainable seaweed farming practices, we protect coastal biodiversity and maintain the health of marine habitats. We also provide the coastal communities with an alternative way of income to fishing which helps the current depleted fish stocks. Our efforts include adhering to strict environmental standards, collaborating with local communities, and supporting marine conservation initiatives. By advocating for responsible fishing practices and investing in innovative technologies, we aim to make a positive impact on SDG 14 and ensure the long-term sustainability of our oceans.

Goal 14

Life on Land

RKN contributes to SDG 15: Life on Land through our production of biostimulants, Sette EcoNourish. These eco-friendly products enhance soil health, promote sustainable land use, and support biodiversity conservation. By utilizing organic ingredients, including seaweed extracts, Sette EcoNourish improves soil fertility, nutrient availability, and plant resilience. Our biostimulants help farmers reduce reliance on fossil-fuel fertilizers, pesticides, and poisonous chemicals and to enhance crop productivity, and contribute to the restoration of degraded ecosystems. With sustainable land management practices and the use of Sette EcoNourish, we aim to create a healthier planet while preserving the diversity of life on land.
